Exactly... I don't give a crap about ubers vs casuals I'm just saying that keeping the V'wunkays around will incentivize people to keep logging on even if it's weeks/months from now. I just see zero valid reason to get rid of them that's all. They're just pure fun and that's so much win for everyone I don't see why they'd be taken away.Org du Lac wrote:I haven't seen this many spontaneous pick-up expeditions in ages.

Re: Portal Moves For February
Edit 3: It seems like all 30 of the v1k NPCs have been found (we're assuming it's 30 right?) so I have gone ahead and moved the purple portal to outside of Foghaven. It should stay there until Friday/Saturday-ish and then will go to the CD. Reminder: Outside Foghaven Monaster is not safe by any measure of the word. Expect death and such. Recruit people to help clear and talk to the NPC. Be sure to keep the portal outside of the monastery or it will stop working. There is no good place for it. (Going from the mirror will negate any delay when you land and help you run around and live.)

Edit 4: Purple Portal is now in the CD thanks to a team of skilled exiles who, with daring leadership and unfathomable skill, cleared Foghaven for me. Happy Hunting!

There were 50 Wunkays? I only knew of 30. I got all of them, but certain, um, friends of mine did not.

There were 30. 10 gave 1 ranks and 20 gave 2, so 50 ranks totalChmee wrote:There were 50 Wunkays? I only knew of 30. I got all of them, but certain, um, friends of mine did not.
Extreme level disparity is community disparity.

Ah. I did see two ranks a couple of times, but I wasn't sure it was due to the Wunkays.

I guess everything was lost? If you by chance checked part of the way through, it'd be interesting to know which V'wunkays were the least visited!Yappy wrote:I am open to that.Org du Lac wrote:Hey Yappy, are you willing to give us some basic statistics afterwards about the 'collection'?

Sadly, yes. I'd like to say that I am very impressed that all of the V'wunkays were discovered without the use of scrying. Nothing like good old fashioned legwork to solve a "where are they" mystery!Org du Lac wrote:I guess everything was lost?

Don't want to burst your bubble, but i think some scrying was used as well. Sort of a "community find".
Re: Portal Moves For February
Don't want to burst your bubble, Lorikeet, but as the first person to find a V'Wunkay, before I made a public sunstone message about it I asked a Mystic if it was scryable. They were not able to locate the V'Wunkay.Lorikeet wrote:Don't want to burst your bubble, but i think some scrying was used as well. Sort of a "community find".
On another note, I think some of the locations were leaked by GMs to players.

Re: Portal Moves For February
The last one found (in OOB 33) was hinted to but it took a team of 6 a few hours to check every snell of snaggy and OOB before finding it.

Re: Portal Moves For February
Only the first ~10 V'wunkays were scry-able. The rest were all hidden to scrying. (Or at least most were, I only checked a handful, e.g. I couldn't find the Dal'Noth V'wunkay even when I was standing right next to him).Lorikeet wrote:Don't want to burst your bubble, but i think some scrying was used as well. Actually I only checked with the skristal... possibly the orb would have found the others, although that would require being on the same snell or adjacent snell to the v'wunkay.

Re: Portal Moves For February
I don't really care how they were found or who found them. I just know a mystic explained to me that they were skryable, and that the apostrophe made a problem at times. Whatever.

Interesting. I didn't know that apostrophes could mess with skrying.Lorikeet wrote:I don't really care how they were found or who found them. I just know a mystic explained to me that they were skryable, and that the apostrophe made a problem at times. Whatever.
