This is a huge mischaracterization. Reread the first 5 threads in Off Topic. There is ugliness in each of them.

And with FWitB hidden, it's clear that there will be a lot more of it, not less.
The ugliness in Off Topic is the clashing of opinions. The problem isn't that people don't agree, its that they are too hard-headed to agree to disagree. FWitB, on the other hand, is just a cesspool and has no greater value in my opinion. Agree of disagree, I do not see people coming out of there with better attitudes than they went in there with.

There is a difference between disagreement and name calling.

Name one area on the Sentinel in which people come out with better attitudes than going in or who changed their minds after discussion.

I can only think of one, and it also gets pruned.

Vagile explains Vagile's position and we have the equivalent of "but what about Bobby, how come he gets away with X?" You really think you're improving your position? Really?

I thought FWitB was pruned. I've changed it so it is now. And upped the prune time for Off Topic from 30 days to 60 days .

Thanks Vagile!

Despite Vagile's points regarding how community should be happening in-game over on the Sentinel, the fact remains that we all are real people (well, most of us are real people) with real lives outside of CL.

Off Topic should NOT be pruned, as this builds the real-person community and contains many valuable nuggets of information and insight into that community. More damage and confusion is caused by pruning than just by leaving things be, so I wish it was different.

Frankly, I don't REALLY care that much one way or the other, but there are a few threads I wish wouldn't disappear, and as they really cause no harm being there, I don't see why they should be pruned.

At least Vagile is consistent enough to prune FWitB as well.

Exactly. As of now, I'd rather not start or participate in any OT threads of any depth or importance...
I mean- what's the point?

Vagile, this was a terrible decision for the community, and I hope that you reconsider.

I really disagree with the decision. And now I lose my precious FWITB posting area. : (

Sorry, but I don't want to bump threads indefinitely that just adds more stress and business.
