1) I do actually click Garonor on hunt (since your reply followed mine I assume I was (and other) targeted.

2) My understanding is that Slarty is looking for pets ideas at this point. I haven't requested anything nor intend to try to get one before the mechanisms are implemented

3) I think that one of the ideas behind the healer's pets is to get healers out of the lib. How many healers are left in the lib in favor of a fighter and may finally come out more often if they get pets ?
Wasn't actually responding to you Grem, just happened to come after your post. Just hating in general, thought that was what we do here when ppl get too positive and dreamy.

Maybe better not to do much hating in a GMs thread on an awesome addition?

But also in response; I have a healer that really is a lib alt so far, because she's still only 3rd circle and I don't have much time to hunt Eirian, let alone anyone else.

But, I do have small bits of time that my healer could easily use to take a pet out, which would let me practice healing on the pet, rather than on hapless noobs and lowbies. (Since my healer isn't strong enough to be that useful to anyone above lowbie level...)

I really think the pets could help young healers, even if they start as alts, get some practice, and maybe they'd be out of the lib when someone wants to hunt say, or nwf... or even cloud. ;)

Will it be possible to just have one pet without a configuration of four?

What's a polar bear cub? If you mean glacier bear cub, those seem like the same image as the polar bear of old. Unless there's an even smaller baby image I'm missing

plus there were baby versions of them available!!

Back to topic: Maybe size doesn't matter at all? Maybe we can have a Mantuan at the size of an exile as a pet?
And maybe my healergirl wants a Pretty Officer as a friend/slave instead of a pet ;)
That actually could work too, not? ;)

For more pets there could be:

co'Acha -> Vile Cricket -> Island Locust -> Black Locust
Myrm Farmer -> Warrior Myrm -> Royal Myrm -> Queen Myrm
Frog -> Smoky Bog Amedon -> Burning Reed Amedon -> Delta Toad
Infant Meshra -> Green Meshra -> Deep Meshra -> Blind Meshra (It's old, ya know ^^)
Baby Night Wendecka -> Night Wendecka -> Midnight Wendecka -> Large Midnight Wendecka
Baby Wendecka -> Wendecka -> Young Sasquatch -> AMS
Day Wendecka -> Dawn Wendecka -> Dusk Wendecka -> Bloodback (from Arindal)
Darshak Liche -> Greater Liche -> Darshak Ancient -> Ancient Darshak Liche
Various spider, Feline and Canine combinations (I leave that one open)
Sturdy Oak Giant -> Redwood Giant -> Tree Giant Wight -> Ash Giant
Greymyr -> Mossy Greymyr -> Spectral Greymyr -> Ancient Greymyr
Raja-Yorilla -> Yorilla -> Madzume Yorilla -> Utsanna Raja-Yorilla
Scavenger Bird -> Foil Vulture -> Saber Owl -> Astral Drake
Carnivorous Tor -> Gitoise -> Sortoise -> Baltoise

take into account that the images are fitting better in that the creature strengths might tell you to switch them...

If it would be possible to use Arindal Creatures we'd have several more options like other colors for wendeckas, Tigers, Mahas and so on.
follow the family links on http://de.arindalwiki.com/index.php?title=Bestiarium for example:
Anaconda: Image
Priest mummy - burning edition: Image
Baby Ogopogo: Image
and many more...

@Slarty: Maybe you can also ask people to offer their own images. If they provide you all attacking, standing and walking pose images they could be accepted (if they fit for the game and are not to off-topic). Plus you'd have a new monster to add for future areas... You'd just have to give the requirements like "image in png max 80x80 pixels max. 2kb per image" etc...

Unless we are to believe the slaves aren't sentient, I don't think Slarty will agree. :D

However, I know someone who would like a slime as a pet. Starting with the large -> medium -> tiny. :)

I guess it'd be too late to suggest ferals/foxes. There are lots of cool pics for them.
