Full Bard Audition Request

Post by Guinness » Sun Jan 09, 2011 1:11 am

Let us find a time,
Let us set a date,
My skills are at their prime,
My music cannot wait,

So come all you great,
Come all you small,
Wonders for you await,
The melodies enthral,

Here and now I make my call,
It echo's through the sky,
Upon your ears it now does fall,
Will you heed the chanters cry?

So, give me a month to put on the finishing touches.
I have grown tired to asking people to come to the bards field to hear me play.
And I really like the gold belt....

Can you give a few times that are good for you?

I'll send a message to the bard list. If none of them can make it, well, I probably can do it all by myself. ;)

How about the 12th of Feb at whatever time would be good for you..?

I'm usually clanning around 21:00-03:00 EST (GMT -5)

which is PST 18:00-00:00 (GMT -8)

which is also UTC 02:00-08:00

If that doesn't work for you, I am flexible.. expect for mondays.

Well...
That might be too late, since I mostly am pretty busy on weekends and would like to get some sleep ;-)
About 14.00 - 20.00 EST would be fine for me...

I hope I don't mess this up... Bloody time zones

That time could work for me as well, kinda...

There is stuff that happens with the pipe band I am in around then from time to time. But not regularly, I'll let you know a specific time and date when I can.. Probably still won't be for a few weeks

I have a few tunes that are better suited as duets. I remember that the last audition we had, one of the auditioners played a duet.. tho it seems that is looked down upon by your rules.

Would I be able to do the same?

We prefer them not to be duets if you can help it. Half of this is that it requires more co-ordination and we've had issues with that before.... half of it because it's supposed to be a reflection on your own 'talent,' not someone else's. (Though since you've written the whole duet, that's really the hard part...)

But hey, I'm the Bard Master around here so I guess I can bend the rules if I want. If you've got a very spiffy duet you want to play, we'll let one slide. ;)

(To be honest, I played a duet at my audition as well, long long ago! And that's when they were strict!)

I, personally, do like duetts... no, I love them (well, there's still some dependence - does it sound nice or not?) ... So why not give it a try?

Yah, I'm not ready either.

I've got a whole bunch of other stuff on my plate.

I was just kind of accepted into the grade 5 section of the pipe band I play in. So now I've got the 'grade 5 set' of music to memorize and perfect before next week comes around. I may end up competing in Scotland later this year.

Sooooo.. that is taking precedence over working on my own tunes. I still intend to finish them! But I only have so much time and energy.

Well, keep us up to date on when you think you'll be ready. I'll set a date then.

I look forward to hearing you play!

ALRIGHT! When is a convenient time for you guys?

I've more or less finished off 4 tunes. Just gotta put the finishing touches on the CLTF. I hope to have another 2 tunes ready to go for when you are ready, but I'd rather set a time now and just do it.

My goal is not to be bard, but to give all you puddlebe'ans something to listen to.. make some memories, you know? On that note, I no longer care if I succeed or fail! I don't want to keep you all waiting any longer!

Let's do this!

I'll have the minimum requirement! I'll play as much as I can!
