Feral Den: make slightly tougher

Post by TreeBeard » Wed Apr 10, 2013 4:10 pm

Ok so I hunt a basic loop... nwf, nf, around to feral den then lp on the way out. In the years I've done this loop I've found a full feral den about 5 times, and nothing better than brown ferals. This is the den. There exists large ferals and giant ferals and even dire ferals. Simple fix, put mostly large ferals in the 1st snell of feral den, and all large ferals with small % of giant and smaller % of dire ferals in the 2nd snell. No reason to have this cool little area empty all the time, no? I believe I've found a giant maybe one time in the feral den, but seriously it should be packed.

Sure I'm all about more spots to coin. I'm also all about more coins at higher level areas. You get super awesome coins at KI/Valley and then all of the sudden you get a pretty MASSIVE drop-off with glen, metz and estuary.

Also, why the hell are hard arachnoid mandibles usually 1c max? Wtf. Dentir's bad enough already.

A large feral boss would be cool too.

I disagree with the suggestion. Newbie or midbie areas should remain the same so they continue to be appropriate to newbies and midbies!! Please create a new feral den if you like somewhere else with tougher ferals. That would be on the order of having regular noids and having DTN.

I don't like it when my favourite areas are messed with.

Large ferals are of a pretty comparable level with normal and brown ferals. Very close. Filling the feral den would only be an incentive to go there further, for people of all levels. There are enough normal and brown ferals in the surrounding areas.

I feel uncomfortable to agree to Miss-Don't-change anything but this time I do.

Feral den is already slightly harder than the surrounding snells so exiles who accidently stumble in there might have troubles already.
I won't mind an extension of it or a complete new Feral den. Ferals/canine are a rather weak family yet and more people might study them if there were more which required more atkus to hit.

It actually IS a newbie area, so please get your facts straight.

Adding more larger ferals to the feral den would be awesome, killing stuff that's 5 times your size is a blast!

Ehhh I find myself agreeing with Warawonda. Ferals have always been pretty bad exp for their difficulty relative to other things of the same level.

Oh wow, you are idiotic to the point you manage to screw up quotes. First of all, what makes you think all areas are meant to be solo hunting areas? Put a 2nd circle fighter and a 2nd circle healer in the feral den, wham-bam exp coins hunting fun. The fighter is able to at least solo 2 ferals, and the healer has some rodding capabilities, otherwise they wouldn't have passed any tests. Small groups of second circlers might be able to get a hunt just as exciting as a mountain hunt for high-levels, in a buffed-up feral den. So can you please go vent your childhood angst somewhere else, instead of complaining about literally everything (and raping the english language while you're at it)? kthx
