Move blood splatter layer above text bubble layer.

Post by Stonehand » Fri Feb 08, 2013 3:07 pm

Often when I'm hunting with a group I'll swing at a monster and not be able to tell if I've tagged it because there is a text bubble covering it. This happens so often because people tend to naturally crowd around a monster when hunting, so any speech bubbles have a high chance of covering creatures. Since this is a fundamental aspect of combat, and seeing that tagging something twice unnecessarily is very bad form as it will potentially deny other people an opportunity to tag, or cause them to miss lasties, I feel that missing out on this information because less important information took priority is a problem. Additionally, we have a text log from which we can view any missed text, and potentially the blood splatter animation is not enough to prevent people from reading the bubble its self, but no way to check if we've already tagged one particular creature, making that information even more valuable.

Fafers +1, you know it's good.

Tags should be displayed in a more recognizable form, I agree entirely. Text log might be too much spam, if you were to receive "You have tagged the Vermine" in your sidebar every hit.

I'm thinking an icon above the beast(s) you have already tagged. Or perhaps a different sound when you hit a beast you've already tagged.

can't you set the text bubble transparency somewhere so the monster would still stay visible (and so does the blood splash)?

I really don't know if this would be a good suggestion or not so I have no opinion.

I would prefer this be an option: sometimes communication is more valuable than a tag. And if we can't sync aright because of too much damage being taken by our chars then we might go wipe faster.
