Hey Frenzymac, I just tried using your dll copy and overwriting mine, but had the same error.

I had the same error - was easy to find the root cause.
Avast has found a virus signature in the dll file and locked it in a container.
Trusting the file/folder and putting it back where it was worked for me.

Which settings in Avast? Better question, where exactly is the sandboxed dll?

you probably have to find that on your own...

just chck everything where you can see the latest logs, the quarantained files or whatever...
Different versions might have different settings - different languages won't make it easier...

For Avast:

Maintainance Tab-> Virus Chest Menue -> rightclick the file (in this case) client-v816-2013-07-14.1.dll ... restore for the file to the location it was origionally taken from. I have the Client listed on Avast's ignore list.

Why did the DLL trigger virus behavior alarms to begin with? Something to do with Win32:Evo-gen[Susp]... hm....

The reason is most likely because the client can create log files and write them to your drive. It is no biggy if you know you can trust the source so exempt the CL files. Getting to know your AV is well worth it even if you are not a tech. Right techs?
