The Particulars of Resetting One's Race/Gender

Post by Alces » Mon Sep 20, 2010 1:28 pm

I'm hoping that either a GM or someone knowledgeable in these matters can clear a few things up for me:

This is what I understand about the Race/Gender reset process...Please correct me if I am wrong:
  • The cost is $10.
  • It is set up by e-mailing Joe directly. (joe [at] deltatao [dot] com)
  • Target character must be online in order for this to take place. (An afk macro of some sort makes this easy)
  • Target character is taken by a GM and placed at the beginning of n00b walk.
  • Upon entering the 1st door of n00b walk* , target character's race/hair/skin color is reset to default.
*(the door where gender is selected)
Questions that I've asked Joe on the subject:
Q: Will I lose my Taintless pajamas if I change my race?
A: I'm not sure. You go through the newbie walk again to change race. I don't think it messes with your clothes, though it does hair and skin. I'm not sure, though.

Q: Instead of the beginning, would dropping me directly in the room where the races are selected circumvent the hair/skin reset script, or will those NPCs only respond to undisclosed exiles?
A: No response. (yet)

Q: If you drop me in the Race selection room and it doesn't work (i.e., I lose everything), would there be any way for you to restore the pajamas/hair*, or would they be gone forever?
*Alces is presently rocking the Old Lady Blue hair (i.e., the first iteration of white hair in the castle that's no longer available), and I want to know if I for sure will have to sacrifice that in order to have his race reset, or if it's something that can be restored afterwards.
A: No response. (yet)

Q: How would you like for me to pay for the transaction? (e.g., purchase $1 gift cards that you then void after purchase, or...?)
A: No response. (yet)

So...can someone fill in the blanks for me on this stuff?

Thanks!

I've seen people who were taintless that kept their PJs after having their race reset. So if they're not kept by default they can be given back (Tho I think they're kept).

I would assume they could drop you in whatever room they wanted they'd just need to find the ID of the room.

Easiest way to pay is Paypal.

Thanks Sal!

What about the hair? I seriously love the OLB hair (it matches the taintless so well...!) and don't want to give it up. Do you think that dropping Al a little further inside the n00b walk (e.g., the race selection room) would solve that problem?
(or would he not have his race reset to Undisclosed...?)

Also- I used PayPal when I made a purchase recently.

I guess my question is- what product should I put in my cart and purchase when I go to pay for this service?
Is there a "DONATE!" button that I'm not seeing on the DT website?

Anyone have any more info for me?

I'm ready to spend some money here, I just need to know how to go about doing it.

Again, the goal is to have Al's race reset to Undisclosed, and for him to keep his rare only-available-for-one-version hair color.

I think he wants to be reset to undisclosed so when/if the Arindal races are given as an option to undisclosed he can pick one of them.

Pretty much, yeah.

If that doesn't work out (e.g., if the Arindal races are put in some other way), then the new Zo icon looks pretty awesome w/ taintless armbands...

Things...could have gone better...

This happened yesterday as well, and when I morphed/unmorphed I reverted to human male.

After trying again, we got it working so that the change is both permanent and gender-appropriate...
AND you get to keep your hair color...!

Here is what needs to be done:
  • Purchase Name Change on DT website ($10.95)
  • Leave character logged in and contact Joe with the character's location.
  • After Joe changes you, go the OOC area and select whatever Undisclosed icon you want. (armed/unarmed)
  • Go touch the altar in the temple.
After that, you can log on/off and morph/unmorph free from the fear of having your icon revert to what it was before.
...and if you happen to be male, you won't have breasts anymore...

Can you also make a dwarf, go to the helmet shop, get a black helmet then change your race to Zo with this and have a Zo with black bracers?

The new zo image with the bracers doesn't use the same base colour as the helmet on dwarfs unfortunately.
