Avatars

I can't figure out why avatars are horked. They are all still there where they were originally uploaded. File permissions all appear correct. The database info is good. They don't appear to upload and they don't appear to display. Any phpBB gurus out there?

Re: What happened to "view new posts?"

It all happened in the update. Do we want the other style as a choice?

Re: Updated

Vagile is going to try and fix everything. The Sentinel is expected to go kerblooey and be out of action for a few days. It's entirely possible that any posts after August 2009 may be deleted and any Sentinel accounts beginning with a letter earlier in the alphabet than, say, T may be deleted. Other...

Re: Vagile

Please everyone go and update your player status.

Registration spambots seem under control but it may be an option in the future to delete any accounts with spambot as their status.

Re: Vagile

I swapped to the Q&A check but it didn't slow down at all. For the moment I've disabled new registrations. I'll continue to look into it... Please post ideas here.

Spam Registrations

I'm getting 20 - 50 new spam registrations a day. The Captcha security clearly is not working. I'm on the verge of asking someone else to take over admin of the Sentinel. Anyone have a simple solution?

Re: Why "Best People..." thread was moved

Right on Noiv. I'd much rather correct topics go in the correct forums. If something in FWitB or Off Topic really needs to be not pruned, let me know and maybe I'll sticky it.

Re: Please disable Auto-Prune in the Off Topic forum.

I thought FWitB was pruned. I've changed it so it is now. And upped the prune time for Off Topic from 30 days to 60 days .

Re: Please disable Auto-Prune in the Off Topic forum.

This is specifically a Clan Lord forum. A place to discuss CL stuff. I'm not interested in preserving chat that isn't CL related. Off Topic posts are pruned over time when people stop participating in a thread. Community is made within the game not here on the forum. In fact I think the forum works ...

FWitB

You now have to add yourself to the usergroup FWitB to participate in there. Or remove yourself if you don't want to. I think I have the settings correct but maybe not and everything will explode.

FWitB should now only be accessible to registered users.

Re: About your decision towards moderation

Arguably the atmosphere of The Sentinel could do with a change. More players stay away than post or read regularly. I agree no moderation would be preferable but we can try with Lorikeet for a while and see how it flies.
